This is really annoying, it's just another QQ thread. First we had all the ursan QQing, now we have a new topic, perma SF. Apparently just because a skill is imba or allows the average GW player to become rich makes all the "rich" players go WTF QQ, Y DA HELLZ DUZ DA N00B HAZ FoW ARMOR!!! Farming is pretty much defined as doing a repetitive task for profit, as seen in this SF craze.

Besides, you're not A-net, you don't work for them, you don't know them, and you sure as hell aren't aware of their intentions. It's their game, they can do w/e they want. Hell, they can give SF a 120 sec duration with 10 sec recharge, why? Because it's their game, they make the rules. For the hell of it, they can guarantee a 100% chance of ecto dropping from each mindblade, just to piss off the QQ'ers. So it's not out job to judge them. Because you know they can make some more insane buffs if they wanted. Yes, I'm looking at you [seed of life] and [there's nothing to fear]

SF farming is NOT whats going to drop the ecto prices more.
Its the people who panic "omg so many SF farmers are going to destroy economy must sell ecto now" people who sell to merchent that will do it.
So stop bitching about SF already.

My prediction is that ANet will do something to the Chaos Planes farming run. On one hand they are supportive of farming, as has been stated several times, and current PvE buffs (SF, Mystic Regen) confirm this. On the other hand they are wary of too good farming spots. The Loot Scaling mechanism in particular was tuned to keep the hourly income rate at a certain level which seems to be somewhere in the range of 10-20k per hour. The Chaos Planes run is currently a strong anomaly and if nothing is done, its yield will eventually decrease to a comparable level with other runs purely through the natural devaluation of ecto (this would indicate a stable ecto price at around 1-2k) This change is not instantaneous because there's a huge buffer of ecto in the economy already but the issue will eventually solve itself, one way or another, and our opinions have little effect in the matter.

Also, I am still of the opinion that adding a couple of patrolling Charged Blackness mobs to Twin Serpent Mountains would deter most solo farmers without causing any unexpected side effects to normal teams.

now people are gonna say: no it's not the permasin they have nothing to do it with
but they do farm the chaos planes alot and bring alot of profit
half the people running around in ToA are A/E

I disagree with nerfing this farm. If too many people do it, the prices of ecto will eventually go down enough that people will stop farming it in favor of something more profitable. At that point the prices will begin to stablize.

Have given my reasons in other treads, its not farming mindblade spectres or the SF buff that causes the drop in ecto... And if for some reason ecto is dropping, let it be time that its replaced by a new form of currency... Z-keys maybe?

how many times do people have to say this People have been farming Chaos PLains for a LONG time. Long before the buff to SF.
Theres videos of other classes solo farming CP.
Before the buff Perma SF was possible.
Not only that but I will say this AGAIN.
It is NOT the farming that causes the prices to drop.
It is the people who sell to the trader that makes the prices drop.
If people would just stop doing that then there is no problem.
Ive been farming in FoW/UW on my sin LONG before the SF buff.
Get over it seriously.

Just because of this post I say /signed. Eventually FoW will just be another set of armor for everyone to buy. It won't have any significant value other than having to clear FoW, which isn't that hard.

Anyways, ecto is getting to be too much of a problem, i have converted the last of my ecto into Zkeys recently, and "high end worthy" goodies. I would suggest the same to others, unless you want the armor, i now see no other reason for having ecto.

The in-game eco of GW's broke a looonnnnggg time ago so you can't use this as an excuse. I also read somewhere that somone seems to think the value of everything is dropping because of this. They are wrong, just because the price of ecto are dropping doesn't mean everything else is, they used the analagy that if something was worth 100e before, its still worth 100e now, which is bullshit. Prices have always fluctated, they always will, ectos will always be priced at what people are willing to pay for them no matter what, this is the beauty of the traders. These are used to keep the eco in check in a round about way.
Long story short...stop QQ'ing

You don't believe my analogy? In the longer term Yes, values of items will even out (ie 100e for 500k, will soon even out to maybe 120e for 500k). However in the short term, there goes a quick 100k lost in Ecto:Cash trading value ratio. Sure if you keep your item for a week or two, the ecto value of it will go up reletive to the decline in ecto value, however for those of us that trade on a day to day basis, it screws us up. As some of us may accept ecto at 4k, while others of us may accept at 4.5, etc etc. Cash is being lost in the conversion, 10k here, 100k there, as you may soon begin to comprehend.

Here's an easy way to fix;

Glyph of Swiftness moved to Estorage, and made 0...1...3 (or whatever it goes up to).

Sins can't use it then, bye bye A/E. As for A/Me, reduce SF duration so that it has 1-2 seconds down time even with Arcane Echo.

what about an a/rt with Ghostly Haste? Too much effort to nerf all the HSR skills :/. Better off to add a new skill, or new mob. Reducing drop rates on ecto would screw up party's, as they'd suffer too. Maybe altering drop rates for 1-man parties?

Or make it so recharge from 2 skill can't go below 40% in PvE? Only expensive things like Quickening Zephyr would make perma possible on A/E.

Although then most of the assassin would be useless...

Nerf Ursan, then nerf the rest.

Its the fact that people dont want others to have what they have(stack of ectos)
They are so scared that it will make the value of them less.
BUT its NOT the farming thats reducing the prices its the farmers that sell them to trader that is affecting the price.

Well, I don't usually post on forums, being an in-game character and all, but I figured now was the time to voice my thoughts on this issue.

I like my skillbar. Why should I have to change the way I play the game to accommodate people who are either too lazy or too full of themselves to let everyone else play the game they want? I've had a perfectly formulated skillbar that suits my exact playstyle for the last 3 years and I see no reason to change it now, especially since any "damage" to the economy already done.

On another note, if it wasn't for these shadow form sins coming down to visit me all the time, I'd get pretty lonely! All I used to see before they fixed Shadow Form was Ursans and Terra tanks, and to be honest, those just aren't the kind of people we Mesmers prefer to hang out with. I see eye-to-eye with my new Assassin friends, and I value their continued friendship. Not to mention there was about 3 times the number of FoW groups as there was UW groups. It's time we get some loving too, ya know?

lol... Kudos to you, my friend, for the reminder that it's just a game. The purpose of a game is to have fun and enjoy friends, soloing, whatever it may be. It's too common nowadays for people to be selfish and not think about how what we say/do affects someone else. You picked a very fun, lighthearted way to say that.
